NOTICE OF INCREASE IN RENT
At the recent Penrith Allotment Association AGM, the committee put forward a proposed rent increase for the 2026 season, which had been agreed upon by the committee members in advance.
A vote was taken on the proposed rent increase by the members of Penrith Allotment Association who were in attendance. The members voted unanimously in favour of the increase.
A standard full size allotment plot, currently at a rental of £40 per annum, will become £48 for the 2026 season. This equates to a 20% rise, and this will be applied to the current rental fee for all plots and hen pens. In all cases, the annual rent will be rounded up to the nearest pound.
The committee would like to thank all the members that voted in favour of the rent increase, and we strongly believe that despite the small increase, our annual rent remains comparatively low compared to the other allotment associations in Cumbria.
Kind regards

VOTE ON NEW TENANCY AGREEMENT
PENRITH CRICKET CLUB
TUESDAY 25th MARCH, 2025
7 P.M
We are glad to announce that at the above meeting the new Tenancy Agreement was voted on and agreed to be introduced.
There were no votes against the introduction and one person abstained from the vote.
After discussion at the meeting there were two slight changes which were made to the agreement and then voted on.
These were:
4. Cultivation and Use.
4.3 The addition of the sentence:
"New Tenants taking on poorly cultivated plots will be given a more appropriate amount of time to get their plots up to the required standard and the Association recognises that this will be the case."
10.1 Change of Circumstances
The word "immediately" inform the Association was changed to inform "within a reasonable amount of time".
What happens next?
We will, within the next ten(10) days, serve notice of the change in Tenancy Agreement. We will announce this on our Facebook page, on our site noticeboards (are doing so now on our website) and we will also email the notice to all plot holders. Where any plot holders have not provided a valid email address we will provide a letter to be delivered to the plot holders home address.
We greatly appreciate all our plot holders who turned up to the meeting and took the time to listen and vote in the new Tenancy Agreement and to those who voted by proxy.
We look forward to welcoming you to our AGM which will be held at Penrith Cricket Club on Monday 28th April, 2025 at 7PM.
Kind Regards
Penrith Allotment Association Committee.
